Cheryl Cole is finally getting her career back on track with her first foray into the film industry, as well as a new solo album in the works. With the help of will.i.am, the pop singer is apparently getting ready to work with David Guetta on a few new tracks as well. A source said “Cheryl will be a top solo star in the US, if Will has anything to do with it. The man is so well connected, and he sleeps, breathes and eats music. He has a studio at home in which he is trying out new sounds for Cheryl. He wants the best and is very picky. David is an old friend and has produced some of the best dance anthems of the past few years, so it’s a good place to start.” It all sounds as though he’s not taking any chances with the new album and I think it’s going to pay off.

Paula DeAnda is back with a new song called “Besos”. The Mexican-American pop singer released her self-titled debut album back in 2006 but then just disappeared. She tried to make a comeback of sorts in 2008 but failed miserably. In any case, time has passed and it seems that she’s learned about what’s hot in the music biz right now because this new track of hers is on fire! It’s a sassy R&B/pop track that’s catchy and fun with a dose of electro beats. The song is already available for download on iTunes USA and I encourage you to get it. I wish she’d record a full album but Paula is said to be readying the release of a mix tape.

His solo debut single “See No More” is flopping hard and has left the singer looking like a fool. The single, produced by Brian Kennedy and written by Chris Brown, showed Joe taking some risks with an urban pop sound that I personally thought was a good thing but the song is outside of the US iTunes Top 100 and at a low spot on the Billboard Hot 100. Joe can’t do much else other than keep promoting and pray for a miracle. He recently performed on Lopez Tonight where he gave a solid performance of “See No More”. The vocals were hot but I just can’t understand the random dancers behind him.

Former Pussycat Dolls member Jessica Sutta is ready to take over clubs once again with a new dance floor-ready track called “Show Me”. The song has been confirmed to be the official first single from the pop singer’s debut album, which is set to be released later this year via Hollywood Records. The track has a pretty cool dance pop beat, with some convenient fierce lyrics. Jessica might have a Billboard Hot Dance Club Songs chart hit on her hands. I’m not saying it’s going to the top spot but it definitely deserves a good spot on there. I think it’s hot!

Ke$ha has decided to cancel her upcoming concert at White River State Park in Indianapolis, Indiana on August 23 so that she can prepare for her performance at the MTV World Stage show in Mexico. The pop singer apologized to her fans, saying “I am so sorry that I can’t party with you this time around. I was really pumped to cover your city in glitter.” I don’t really see why this is necessary. The performance for MTV will be pre-taped and will air later in September on MTV Latin America. It’s a shame she can’t find a way to please her fans and still prepare for a pre-taped performance.

Fans of the first movie from the “Twilight” series either really love or really hate it. But they all agree that when it comes to Catherine Hardwicke’s adaptation, Robert Pattinson’s work on the soundtrack was A+. So it should be no surprise when fans got excited at the revelation that “Breaking Dawn” director Bill Condon plans to pay a bit of an homage to the first film by incorporating similar music. Carter Burwell, who scored the first movie, will be back for part 1 of BD. Bill also alluded to the idea that someone from the cast is in negotiations to perform a song to be part of the soundtrack as well. He didn’t say who but Jackson Rathbone and his band 100 Monkeys is the likely guy, though I wouldn’t be opposed to Robert singing again.

Viral sensation Rebecca Black is set to drop her debut EP next month. The young pop singer is promising both fans and critics that she is serious about having a music career and is determined to prove that she’s not just a one-hit wonder. Rebecca said “It’s crazy to think [about 'Friday']. I was really nervous about ‘My Moment’ coming out because I thought, ‘I don’t think I’ll be able to even beat ‘Friday’ myself.’ … I wanted people to able to take me seriously because I felt like this would be the right thing to do.
