Shakira and Gerard Pique seemed to form the strongest couple in the showbiz world. They declare their eternal love every time they had the opportunity, they cuddle and kissed openly. That is until recently, because, apparently, Shakira broke up with Pique. The singer would have found out that her boyfriend, football player at FC Barcelona would be cheating on her with a younger woman. Shakira and Gerard Pique were in love for more than half a year. As soon as they heard of their romance, fans of Real Madrid have appointed two as `the most annoying couple ‘. According to Mexican press, Shakira was very affected by her lover’s infidelity. She felt offended because the woman he cheated on her with is about ten years younger than her. At 34 years old, the Colombian singer believed that she rediscovered true love, after at the end of 2010 broke up with Antonio de la Rua, with whom she lived for 11 years. ‘My Sun’, so she used to call Gerard Pique.

And it seems pretty serious and permanent… at least for the time being. Shakira and her new boyfriend, soccer star Gerard Pique, were recently caught kissing on camera by some unruly paparazzi with probably little to no sense of privacy. Regardless of this monstrous invasion of Shakira’s personal life it does seem like she and Gerard Pique are quite the adorable little couple… at least at first glance. All that’s left now is to see how long this will actually last… after all, soccer players have a new bad reputation in what concerns relationships thanks to the beloved Ashley Cole. But Shakira can probably do good enough for herself.

It seems that the singer has been single for quite some time now. In a recent statement on her website Shakira only now revealed that she has in fact broken-up with her eleven-year boyfriend, Antonio de la Rua, but this happened back in August. The statement reads as follows: “During our almost 11 years together we have loved each other deeply, taken care of each other and stood by one another. They have been the most wonderful years of our lives, and thanks to that love and the respect that we share for one another we have been an exceptional couple and partners.” Shakira seems to have adhered to the concept that if something is going perfectly, then it’s just boring and should be done with. Or maybe there is more to this break-up than meets the eye… especially since its been kept so hush-hush.

Shakira premiered a video for her new single called “Loca”, the first offering from her upcoming album entitled “Sale El Sol” – in stores on October. “Loca” video was filmed on locations in Barcelona.
