David Grohl changed by fatherhood
It seems that the front man from The Foo Fighters was really marked by the fact that he became a father… and this is apparently reflected in his work too. David Grohl explained the monumental change: “It’s changed everything that I do. When you have kids, you see life through different eyes. You feel love more deeply and are maybe a little more compassionate. It’s inevitable that that would make its way into your songwriting. I used to tour nine months out of the year. Now I don’t like being away from my kids for more than 12 days.” At least David Grohl is one of those so few that write music out of sentiment and not sales figures. And it’s not so uncommon that having kids makes you have less time for other stuff… that part’s pretty clear, nothing extraordinary there.
No commentsBilly Idol filling Steven Tyler’s shoes
These are the latest and rather unusual rumors from the Aerosmith camp. It seems that Billy Idol was supposed to meet up with Joe Perry but couldn’t go through with it because of health issues. The general idea is that Billy Idol might be the sought-after replacement for Steven Tyler in Aerosmith. A source said the following about the singer’s meeting with Joe Perry: “Joe said he wanted to talk to Billy about joining Aerosmith, because the band were having problems with Steven. As far as I know Idol did not show up due to having a cold.” It’s not that Steven Tyler’s shoes don’t fit Billy Idol… it’s just that they’re probably not something he would wear. Ah, the cold, such a classic excuse for avoiding things.
No commentsJoel Madden’s name choice
It seems the rocker from Good Charlotte chose to name his son Sparrow so that it would make his life difficult. Joel Madden related the following about his choice for his son’s name: “It reminded me of the Johnny Cash song ‘A Boy Named Sue.’ My worry raising a son in Hollywood is, what will he have to struggle for? I wanted to give him a name that he’s going to have to stand up for. I love it, I think it’s a beautiful name.” Somehow it is doubtful that Joel Madden’s plan is going to work. How many bullies are there in Hollywood anyway? And from that limited number, how many would pick on a kid just for having the name “Sparrow”… especially when his dad is a rocker. Not too much thought put into the matter there, Joel Madden.

No commentsOasis Attacker Charged

Someone definitely got off lucky as the insane guy who snuck on stage and pushed Oasis singer Noel Gallagher into some speakers in the middle of a Canadian gig last weekend was charged with assault on Monday. The assailant is lucky that the bad boys from Manchester didn’t get a good hold of him. The Gallaghers are the type of guys that you wouldn’t even dare to look at if you ran into them on the street. The attacker obviously didn’t know who he was dealing with. After his attack, the boys didn’t hesitate to fight back. Too bad they weren’t able to finish the job as they still had a show to do.
No commentsThe Jonas Brothers Mania Still On
The Jonas Brothers performed at the HMV music store on Oxford Street in London on Friday. The band of brothers recently took to their blog about their experience at the store. They said “It was fun to see the people from the label there with their mouths wide open and their hands over their ears. The shouts were so loud. We signed for 300 people that waited in line. They told us that there were a lot of people that had been in line since the day before. The wristbands were gone in 30 minutes. As we were leaving there was a group of girls running after our vehicles. It will never grow old to us to see hundreds of screaming fans chasing our car AND the looks on the faces of people when our fans come around the corner running after our cars screaming.
