Ne-Yo is set to tie the knot with girlfriend Monyetta Shaw, and the two are also expecting their second child. A rep for the 31-year old R&B singer confirmed the news to Us Weekly, while a source told the magazine that the family’s newest addition is due next month. Ne-Yo and Monyetta, who owns a boutique in Atlanta, Georgia, welcomed their first daughter Madilyn Grace back in November of last year. Congratulations to the newly engaged couple and the happy parents! I guess it would be safe to assume that the wedding will go down after their second child is born.

Damon Dash Remembers Aaliyah

It’s been 10 years since the tragic death of Aaliyah. The R&B singer died in a small plane crash in the Bahamas on August 25, 2001. Damon Dash, her boyfriend at the time of her death, remembers her and how unbelievably heartbreaking it was for him when she passed away. He said “My heart was broken. Nothing prepares you for that. She was intelligent and she caught me. I’m the kind of guy who says things sometimes just to make myself laugh, but she would just catch me making jokes for me. I couldn’t get anything past her. She had a very quick mind and a very kind heart. Our time together meant so much that when we got more time, we felt like that [engagement] would be next. She was one of the best people I ever met. Even with the pain I felt, I would do it all over again.” I can’t believe it’s been 10 years. She was such a beautiful soul and a tremendous talent. She definitely left way too soon.

Lady Antebellum lead singer Hillary Scott is set to marry drummer Chris Tyrell. People is reporting that the 25-year old country star and the 24-year old musician got engaged over the 4th of July weekend in Tennessee. Hillary told the magazine “Chris proposed exactly the way I’ve always dreamed. Our families were close by, but it was just us out on a beautiful deck overlooking a lake in East Tennessee. We had just been on a hike and – in our workout clothes – he hit the knee! We feel so blessed by God that He sent us each other, and we are looking so forward to forever together!” Congratulations to the happy couple!

Jason Mraz Breaks Off Engagement with Tristan Prettyman

Jason Mraz and his fiancé, Tristan Prettyman, have decided to break off their engagement. The 33-year old singer told The Daily Beast “My greatest mistake right now is, I’ve been clinging to my art. In that, I have victory for my art and a great loss for my heart. At the moment, my beautiful fiancé is no longer my beautiful fiancé. In my relationship, I was giving myself away to make the relationship better, but in actuality, wasn’t doing better by doing that. I became less of a man. We are still super friends, we go to yoga together, we surf together. We acknowledge the journey that each of us is on. We certainly want each of us to feel whole and complete. And it’s when you’re whole and complete that that attraction exists and it really thrives.” It doesn’t sound like it’s the end for both of them so maybe they can try again somewhere down the road.

It seems the singer and producer doesn’t spare anything when comes to making something special. Apparently Mark Ronson went to some lengths to make sure that his proposal to his girlfriend, Josephina de la Baume would go well, even going so far as to design the engagement ring himself. This is what Mark Ronson’s future wife had to say on the matter: ”Mark proposed on the beach in La Rochelle – I had no idea whatsoever. He designed the ring – it’s a yellow diamond, so beautiful.” If Mark Ronson doesn’t hold back when it comes to making his engagement special, it sure seems like Josephina de la Baume is pretty reserved when it comes to details. Surely Mark Ronson’s design included something more elaborate than a yellow diamond.

Former Hills star Kristin Cavallari has admitted that when her Chicago Bears hunk Jay Cutler proposed to her over the Easter Weekend, it came as a bit of a surprise. Speaking at last night’s Hollywood premiere of Kate Hudson’s new flick Something Borrowed, she told US Weekly magazine: "I kind of knew it was coming. But I was definitely very surprised." Kristin said she knew right away that Jay, 28, was ‘the one’. She added: "I think that we both knew right away that it was very different and very special." Speaking about the proposal, the 24-year-old added: "I don’t want to say, but it was very romantic and very sweet. "He went and asked my dad, which was really sweet, and my dad really appreciated that. My parents couldn’t be happier. They just love him and his family is excited, so it’s great."

Country singer Chely Wright only came out of the closet a few months ago but I’m happy to tell you all, that she has found love and that she’s now engaged. Her rep broke the happy news earlier this week, saying “Out country singer Chely Wright and her fiancée, Lauren Blitzer, a GLBT Civil Rights activist, have set a date and plan to be married in Connecticut Aug. 20. They met through their youth advocacy work, and say that their passion for Scrabble holds them together.” That’s wonderful news. I wish them both all the happiness in the world. I’m sure both will make beautiful brides.

The 37-year-old supermodel’s boyfriend of three-years is believed to have popped the question in bed on Tuesday after Kate had turned out the lights. He presented her with a vintage 1920s engagement ring and followed it up by asking her parents for her hand in marriage. According to The Sun, they plan to tie the knot on July 2, with Kate’s daughter Lila, eight, as chief bridesmaid. A source close to the couple told the newspaper, “Kate is delighted. Jamie is the man for her – they are soul mates. She just wanted to make him work for her hand in marriage. “He has been badgering her to get married but she wanted to take her time. “Over the last year they have grown so close, they are like man and wife. “They’re going to have the mother of all weddings. It will be a huge party, one of the biggest she has ever thrown and she’s thrown a few.”

The pop star even included a picture of her brand new engagement ring. And I just have to say, that is quite the rock! Emma wrote “Yahooooo I’m Engaged! Love you Jade! I’m a very happy lady!!” Between planning for a wedding and a baby on the way, Emma has a lot to look forward to this year. Congratulations to both Emma and Jade! This is what Emma Bunton had to say on the matter: “Yes I’m engaged. We’ve got a second baby on the way and we’re getting married so it’s all very exciting!” Well it sure took them long enough… but, better late than never, as the old saying goes. After all, Emma Bunton and Jade Jones have been together for so long and already have children, this is probably not going to change a thing. Maybe they did it just for the excuse of having a massive party.

There have been some sources reporting that Shania Twain has been seen with a pretty impressive engagement ring on her finger recently, which can only mean that she got engaged to Frederic Thiebaud. They were probably waiting on this one for some time now since Shania Twain’s divorce only got over and done with this summer. Maybe her new marriage will go a little better than her previous, though fifteen years is not a too bad track record. If Shania Twain manages to beat it, she can retire happily.
