Hollywood heart-throb George Clooney has revealed that he had therapy to get over the end of his marriage to actress Talia Balsam. The 50-year-old actor, who recently split from his Italian girlfriend Elisabetta Canalis, broke up with Balsam in 1993, after four years of marriage. He told UK newspaper The Sun: "I wish I had known then that I was not the marrying kind. Some people aren’t. I am one of them. Yet I did marry. I loved and adored the woman I married, but it was not enough. "We had gone out for a long time and I was not prepared to face up to the fact you need to work at a marriage.” He added: "I went into therapy for the first and only time in my life after the marriage was over. I found out you can use therapy to justify pretty much anything. "They will say, ‘You are not wrong to feel that way’. Sometimes, you just want them to say, ‘You are a real jerk’. I have probably worked harder at friendships than I did my marriage." The Ides Of March star also revealed that his devotion to his work has often been the reason why his relationships have ended. He said: "I love working. I love being on a film set, trying to make something special. It is a very selfish life. "It means my relationships seem to last between two and three years. At that point, these independent women think it is time to call it a day. They see me travelling around, putting work first, writing, directing, acting. It seems I never stop.” He added: "I don’t blame them for wanting more from a relationship."

It came as a shock to a lot of people when Ashlee Simpson filed for divorce from her hubby Pete Wentz. I’m still reeling from the news, mainly because I still don’t know the reason why she’s doing it. From what I could tell, they were a happy family. However, sources are reporting that the singer/actress wanted out of the marriage for a very long time and even though Pete is begging her to reconsider, she’s had enough. A source even said that Pete had cried to Ashlee, insisting that they could make the relationship work but Ashlee didn’t budge. I am really curious as to what happened between them to lead to this.

I don’t think they have officially filed anything yet though. “I think it comes down to that she married this guy too fast. He seemed like a good guy but he is super full of himself and puts her down for everything. He picks fights with her for any little thing.” The insider added that Pressly is worried about how the break-up will affect her son Dezi, three, who she had with ex-fiancé Eric Cubiche. The source said: “She doesn’t want to confuse him. Her baby is her top priority. She is a strong girl though and she will come out of this fine.”

Camille Grammer is reportedly considering attending her soon-to-be ex-husband’s wedding for the sake of their kids. Frasier star Kelsey is hoping to marry fiancée Kayte Walsh next month once his divorce from Camille is finalised. And according to PopEater, he is so desperate for their children Mason, eight, and Jude, six, to be there that he has invited Camille. “Camille is an amazing human being,” a friend of the Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills star said. “For her, it’s all about her children. She’s willing to put her personal hurt aside to be a great mum. “Camille wouldn’t be the first woman in the world to put her children before herself.”

Actress Anna Friel has reportedly ended her nine-year relationship with David Thewlis. According to British newspaper The Daily Mail, the couple have gone their separate ways. Friel, 34, and Thewlis, 47, who got together in 2001 and have a five-year-old daughter, Gracie, have allegedly been forced apart by acting commitments over the past six months. A friend told the newspaper: “Things have not been great for a long time and they have tried to keep this quiet to protect everyone. “It certainly did not help that Anna and David have been forced to live apart for so long, but there are other issues at hand that have made them realise the relationship was over.” The publication reported that friends are still hopeful they will reconcile. The source added: “They do care about each other very much, and the most important thing now is that they both continue to be the best parents they can be for Gracie. “They will have to see each other over Christmas at some point, but hopefully it will not be too painful.”

Courteney Cox is throwing herself into work to cope with her separation from husband David Arquette, according to her Cougar Town co-star Josh Hopkins. The actor told People the mother-of-one has being doing a good job at keeping signs of her personal troubles hidden. “If we weren’t friends and she didn’t confide in me I wouldn’t have any idea that anything was wrong,” he said. “She comes to set, she knows her stuff, and she’s hilarious every day. She’s been amazing.” He added that the media attention surrounding the split has been affecting the couple’s six-year-old daughter Coco. He said: “The day that the news of the separation broke, there were paparazzi outside of their house, and they were taking pictures when Courteney took Coco to school. Coco sees these things, because that’s not a normal thing in any respect and she is a precocious child. There’s no doubt they have a lot to deal with right now, more than you would in your average separation.”
