Katherine McPhee Goes Blonde

August 12th, 2009 | Category: Album, American Idol, Fashion

Katharine McPhee is a natural brunette who recently turned chemically blonde. The American Idol alum has a new look to accompany her new album called ‘Unbroken’. The singer said “I’ve never dyed my hair before so this was a pretty drastic change. I’ve always been known as a brunette but I’ve been thinking about it for a long time and it kind of just fit with all of the searching with the music and experimenting that I would do the same thing with my look. The look has affected the way I dress, it’s inspired me to be more adventurous with what I decide to wear. It’s silly that something so simple as changing your hair could have such a big effect.â€

Kate Voegele New Album

March 11th, 2009 | Category: Album, Kate Voegele

Kate Voegele is gearing up for the May release of A Fine Mess, the highly anticipated follow-up to her 2008 debut album, Don’t Look Away (MySpace/Interscope). Voegele recorded the album in Los Angeles with producer Mike Elizondo (Rihanna, Maroon 5, Pink).

The 22-year-old has been racking up frequent flier miles of late, jetting back and forth between L.A. and Wilmington, North Carolina, where she’s also shooting new episodes of the CW Network’s hit TV series “One Tree Hill.†This season sees Voegele reprising her role as singer-songwriter Mia. She made headlines last year by performing several songs on the show, all from Don’t Look Away.

In their year-end issue, Billboard magazine spotlighted the 10 biggest film and television placement/appearances of 2008 and put Voegele’s involvement with “One Tree Hill†at No. 1. Wrote Billboard Sr. Editor Ann Donohue, “There’s getting a song placed in a prime-time show and then there’s getting cast in that show to play your own music and have the show’s creator write storylines for you inspired by your songs. Such was the case for Kate Voegele…â€Â.

The new season of “One Tree Hill†will see Voegele giving audiences sneak previews of songs from the upcoming album, beginning with the March 16th episode, when she will premiere a brand-new track titled “Manhattan From The Sky.â€Â

Voegele, hailed by Entertainment Weekly for being among the best of “the new golden age of female singer-songwriters,†spent the majority of 2008 touring in support of debut album Don’t Look Away, the record that earned her “Artist To Watch In ‘08†accolades from Billboard. Over the course of the year, she shared stages with Natasha Bedingfield, The Veronicas, Ben Lee, Cary Brothers and launched her own headlining tour.
Voegele performed on “Live with Regis and Kelly†and CBS’ “The Early Show,†and also appeared on “TRL†and Fuse-TV’s “The Sauce.†She recently gave a special acoustic performance on the ABC-TV’s “The Bachelor.†She’s also been featured on the cover of USA Today’s “Life†section and appeared in the pages of People, CosmoGirl, TV Guide and Giant, to name but a few.

Check out Kate’s latest video blog to sneak a peek inside the studio while she works on the new album.

Lily Allen is Sober for Now

December 15th, 2008 | Category: Album, Lily Allen

British singer Lily Allen is getting geared up for the release of her second album and in a recent interview with UK’s Observer, Lily revealed that she is off the sauce and drugs. Gee, I wonder how long that will last. Lily also revealed that she hasn’t had a drink since the end of September. Maybe that’s why she was nice to Britney Spears and hasn’t been making an ass of herself lately. Apparently, Lily wasn’t too pleased when she got portrayed as a drunk in a comic book. Lily did say that she’s not completely swearing off the stuff saying “I have no intention of taking drugs again at the moment. But I can’t say ‘Never again,’ because I don’t know where I’ll be in 10 years’ time. And I will definitely drink in the future, just not for awhile.â€Â

Kelly Clarkson has reportedly finished recording her fourth album and her new single is said to be called ‘My Life Would Suck Without You’. Producer Dr. Luke told EW that she will be back with a new song as early as next month. He also said “This one, which I think is the first single, we had the chorus a while ago and added the verse more recently. They were going to have it out on Nov. 20, but it just got too late. So now they’re thinking Dec. 8 for a worldwide release, but I wouldn’t be surprised if that ends up being early January.â€Â

UK to witness Britney Spears perform

November 28th, 2008 | Category: Album, Britney Spears

Britney Spears will be perform in the UK abet on a TV show and not live of stage as of now. She will however perform live on stage in June of 2009. I’m sure her fans in England would love to see her perform live much sooner.

It would be safe to say that she is well on course for a full and successful comeback now and the miseries of the last 2 years are well behind her now and hopefully it stays like that. I was complete rubbish from her during that period and everyday celebrity news consisted of her involved in a mishap or something awful.

Spears, it is said will be singing her new song ‘Womanizer’ on TV, a song which she has recorded as part of her soon to be released album ‘Cricus’.

If this album manages to succeed the way her previous album have then it would surely put her back on the path of being called amongst the greatest modern artists of her time.
Cheers to her successful comeback.

Miley Cyrus Hovers

November 03rd, 2008 | Category: Album, Miley Cyrus

Miley Cyrus has a fun collaboration in the works with her older half-brother Trace Cyrus who happens to be the front man for Metro Station. Trace tells PopEater that “[We] worked on a song together called ‘Hovering’. [Miley] just informed me that we might do a music video for that and push towards alternative radio. It’s kind of a more rock, edgy song for her, but I love the song. It’s great.†Let’s hope that what he said of the song rings true because otherwise, it will just be another reason for me to call Miley a poser. ‘Hovering’ will be featured on the platinum-edition of Miley’s ‘Breakout’ album which is due to drop in stores on November 18th.

    New Fall Out Boy

October 22nd, 2008 | Category: Album, Fall Out Boy, Singer, Song

Their new album may have been pushed back until December 16th but you can still listen to a new song from Fall Out Boy’s new album ‘Folie a Deux’. The song ‘What a Catch, Donnie’ is a beautiful anthem ballad about life and finding acceptance. It really reminds me of an Elton John song. I’m not sure if it’s going to be a single but I think it should. The song features a lot of other musicians including Panic at the Disco’s Brendon Urie, Cobra Starship’s Gabe Saporta, The Academy Is’ William Beckett, Gym Class Heroes’ Travis McCoy singing a couple of Fall Out Boy’s classic songs towards the end. Elvis Costello is also featured on the song.
