SPL158587_008

Johnny Depp’s long-term love Vanessa Paradis has ordered the actor to quit his new movie after she discovered that he would be sharing a passionate sex scene with Angelina Jolie, according to US reports.

Paradis flipped out and reportedly “ordered Depp to find another gig” after hearing of his intimate scenes with Jolie, who famously fell in love with married co-star Brad Pitt while shooting the 2005 movie Mr & Mrs Smith together.

Depp and Jolie have already started filming The Tourist in Venice – but according to reports, Paradis is still trying to get Depp to quit as she “found out that there was a real long and intense love scene between [Depp] and Jolie” in the movie.

A source said: “He’s currently trying to get out of the movie, but I don’t know if he’s succeeded. But he’s trying, and they’re talking about replacing him with Brad Pitt or Leonardo DiCaprio.”

Paradis is Depp’s partner of 12 years and they have two children together.

The French actress is reportedly alarmed that the sex scenes include Jolie, who has a reputation for seducing her married co-stars.

In 1999, Jolie started dating her Pushing Tin co-star Billy Bob Thornton, while the actor was reportedly engaged to actress Laura Dern.

Spokespeople for Depp, Jolie, Sony Pictures and producer Graham King could not be reached for comment.

Patrick Dempsey learns fatherhood over again for boys

February 26th, 2010 | Category: Actor

SPL155976_008

Patrick “McDreamy” Dempsey saw himself as a dab hand at fatherhood when his twin boys arrived.

Dempsey, the star surgeon of Grey’s Anatomy, already had a daughter, Talula Fyfe. But when Darby Galen and Sullivan Patrick, now 3, arrived, he found he was in for an altogether different ride.

“Boys are completely different than girls for obvious reasons, but physically they’re so much more active. You cannot turn your back [because] there’s always an injury, there’s always something going on,” he said on Jimmy Kimmel Live!

Dempsey even found himself in the emergency room when one of the boys broke his arm in an impromptu dining room table dance party. When he got to the ER, he was met with surprise. “I say, ‘I got it, just show me the [operating room] and I got it. There’s a look of amusement and then dismissal, ‘You sit out there…’”

He jokingly added that he brings bits and pieces home from the show for life’s little medical emergencies.

“I get a lot of equipment from Grey’s, so I have my own OR, which is really nice. I do a lot of brain surgery on them – experimentation.”

Rob Lowe: ‘I’m a terrible liar’

January 26th, 2010 | Category: Actor

SPL127690_016

Brothers & Sisters star Rob Lowe has said he is a terrible liar and thinks acting is to blame.

The 45-year-old, who will be leaving the hit show at the end of the season, said he believes his profession has turned him into a terrible liar.

He said to OK!: “I think actors are horrible liars because what we do for a living is try to tell the truth in completely arbitrary, fake situations. The better actor you are, the worse liar you are, and the worse actor you are, the better liar you are.”

However, he added: “Without lying, there’s no potential. There’s no self-defeat that can tell you you’re more than poor and a loser. I think that’s the most important lie. Without that lie, we’re all stuck in how we’re born, and we can never seek anything outside of that.”

Russell Crowe’s wife Danielle Spencer knows music may be judged ‘more harshly’

January 25th, 2010 | Category: Actor, Music

Russell Crowe’s wife Danielle Spencer said she knows her music career may be judged ‘more harshly’ because of her famous husband.

The 40-year-old Australian star is returning to music after having a break to have her children with Crowe – Charles, six, and Tennyson, three.

She said: “I went from being this musician who had just put out an album to suddenly being married to this person that everyone was interested in for weird reasons which had nothing to do with me.

“And then I got pregnant straight away, so it was an odd period of adjustment. There were definitely a couple of years where I needed to get my balance.”

She added: “But I don’t feel defensive about what I’m doing. I like to keep a low profile, and Russell’s the same. We don’t court the limelight. The attention we get… that’s out of my control.

“Some people may judge me more harshly but I hope that the majority will just listen to the music and take it for what it is.”

Dennis Hopper files for divorce even while reportedly on his deathbed

January 18th, 2010 | Category: Actor, Celebs Divorce

Movie legend Dennis Hopper has filed for divorce while reportedly on his deathbed, according to US reports.

The Easy Rider star is reportedly facing his “final days surrounded by family and friends” while losing the battle against prostate cancer.

Even so, court records show that the ailing 73-year-old has still filed divorce papers against Victoria Hopper, his wife of 14 years.

The drastic move came reportedly as they squabbled over money and his will – and according to one US report Victoria has now “barricaded herself” in their LA home while the star is on his deathbed in hospital.

The New York Post states: “Hopper, who isn’t expected to live more than a month, is trying to keep his wife from contesting his will, which apparently leaves her only a quarter of his estate. He’s also hoping it will force Victoria from the compound where Hopper and two of his grown children and their families live.”

Victoria is wife number five, but this marriage has far outlasted the previous four, which included the 8-day marriage to Michelle Phillips. He and Victoria have been together for 18 years and have a six-year-old daughter, Galen.

A friend says Hopper’s condition – which has him “mentally incapacitated from the enormous amounts of medication he is on” for his treatment – is “adding to the confusion”.

George Clooney cancer scene nixed by upstart director

January 06th, 2010 | Category: Actor, Movies

SPL132533_013

A sub-plot that had George Clooney’s corporate high flyer character in Up In The Air dealing with cancer was nixed by upstart director Jason Reitman.

After a bit of buzz in the blogosphere, Reitman put to rest the rumour that Clooney’s jaded character who travels light in a life without relationships was also battling cancer.

He said that in the book from which the movie was adapted, “You find out that [Ryan Bingham, Clooney's character] is dying of terminal disease and that he’s going to the Mayo clinic.”

But he decided against including the scene that appeared early on that showed an airline stewardess mistakenly asking Clooney if he “wants the can sir” with Clooney thinking she’s saying “cancer” the first few times.

Reitman said the idea for the scene came out of something he actually saw on a plane. He said he included it because it was a “cute nod” to those who had read the book and because it was just the kind of problem Bingham might have had given his addiction to travel and obsession with flying.
