Actress Carey Mulligan may have only been dating new boyfriend Marcus Mumford for a few months, but they have reportedly been writing to each other for years. The British couple started dating in February this year, but it’s claimed the Never Let Me Go star and the Mumford & Sons frontman were childhood pen pals. A source told UK newspaper The Sun: "Carey and Marcus began sending each other letters through their churches when they were kids. "After becoming friends again, things got more serious earlier this year and romance blossomed. The couple have spent a lot of time together while Mumford & Sons have been touring the States."

Jason Mraz and his fiancé, Tristan Prettyman, have decided to break off their engagement. The 33-year old singer told The Daily Beast “My greatest mistake right now is, I’ve been clinging to my art. In that, I have victory for my art and a great loss for my heart. At the moment, my beautiful fiancé is no longer my beautiful fiancé. In my relationship, I was giving myself away to make the relationship better, but in actuality, wasn’t doing better by doing that. I became less of a man. We are still super friends, we go to yoga together, we surf together. We acknowledge the journey that each of us is on. We certainly want each of us to feel whole and complete. And it’s when you’re whole and complete that that attraction exists and it really thrives.” It doesn’t sound like it’s the end for both of them so maybe they can try again somewhere down the road.

The charitable fund set up by Prince William and his wife Kate Middleton has raised about £1million. The pair asked for donations instead of presents when they got married on April 29. The money raised was then distributed between 26 charities helping the elderly, armed forces, conservation, children, sport and art. According to British newspaper the Daily Mirror, a statement said: "Their Royal Highnesses are incredibly grateful." The royal couple are set to make their first official public engagement today for the first time since getting married at a London dinner for the children’s charity ARK.

Actress Tiffani Thiessen said she has a ‘little bit more to go’ in her bid to lose her baby weight. The 37-year-old White Collar star gave birth to her daughter Harper almost a year ago and said she’s still battling to lose the last few pounds. She said to OK! magazine: "Oh, I’m trying so hard. I’ve got a little bit more to go, but I’m getting there. I’m still nursing, so I’ve got that little last bit that’s hanging on there until I stop, but I wanted to go at least a year. "I’m training like crazy with my trainer here in NYC, Josh Zitomer. He’s amazing. I run. I was a runner before, and I’m running again. Yoga, core classes – I do everything. I do it all."

Miranda Kerr believes that having a baby is the greatest thing she has ‘ever done’. The 28-year-old supermodel and husband Orlando Bloom welcomed baby Flynn earlier this year and she said that it was her biggest life-changing moment of her 28 years. Appearing at the CFDA Fashion Awards in New York on Monday night, she told Us Weekly, "He’s the best thing I’ve ever done!" But she said that the happy youngster, who weighed in at 9lbs, 12 ounces at birth, is starting to get his baby teeth meaning that a few tearful nights lie ahead. "He turned five months old today, and it’s such a fun age. He’s smiling. He has two little teeth on the bottom now, so that’s been a little painful," she said. Kerr has previously credited breastfeeding for the loss of her baby weight.

It seems the singer and producer doesn’t spare anything when comes to making something special. Apparently Mark Ronson went to some lengths to make sure that his proposal to his girlfriend, Josephina de la Baume would go well, even going so far as to design the engagement ring himself. Kris Smith has insisted that reports of a split between himself and Dannii Minogue have been "blown way out of proportion". The British model was said to have flown to Australia earlier this week for crisis talks with Minogue, amid claims that work schedules had sparked the end of their three-year relationship. But Smith, who has an 11-month-old son, Ethan, with the singer, said that it was a case of something being made out of nothing. He told the Herald Sun: "You show me a perfect relationship and I will show you a liar. Everything has its ups and downs and things do get magnified [when you are in the public eye]. "This is something that has been just totally blown way out of proportion. Everything is fine. We are good. We are happy." He added that they are in the process of "building a nice barbecue area" at their Melbourne home and making it "a bit more child-friendly".

Save the date.’ "The date has shifted from Saturday the 2nd but there’s no more information about where the wedding is, how many days, nights, etc. "Kate’s doing her usual secret mission stuff but it’s not so funny when the wedding’s just four weeks away. She loves to surround herself with an air of mystery. "It’s very confusing. We have no idea how long to block out our time or where in the country we’ll be. We don’t know whether that’s the church or the party, whether we need to travel, or what’s going on. "And Friday is a strange day to ask us to keep free, when everyone believed it was Saturday and a weekend away." It was thought that Kate, 37, would marry in a church near her Oxfordshire home before throwing a festival-style reception at her house.

Alec Baldwin is reportedly dating Yoga Vida studio director Hilaria Thomas. The 53-year-old 30 Rock star is "smitten" with Thomas, 28, according to the New York Post. "He’s really into her. He’s taking her to the Tonys," an insider told the Post. Thomas refused to comment on the relationship but Baldwin’s representative said: "He’s actually been dating Russell Brand down in South Florida."

The Hobbit movies have been given titles and release dates. The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is set to open on December 14, 2012, while The Hobbit: There and Back Again will open on December 13, 2013. The movies, which are being filmed by Peter Jackson in New Zealand, star Martin Freeman as Bilbo Baggins and also feature Orlando Bloom, Ian McKellen, Cate Blanchett, Christopher Lee, Elijah Wood, Hugo Weaving and Stephen Fry. As prequels to The Lord of the Rings, the two Hobbit movies follow Bilbo as he tries to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor from Smaug the Dragon.
