Russell Brand takes mum as Oscars date
Russell Brand found a stand-in Oscars date while Katy Perry is away on tour – his mum Barbara. The comedian walked the red carpet with his mother, introducing her to TV interviewers and fans. “This is my mum, Babs,” he proudly declared, while his mother beamed from ear to ear. Asked what she thought of her son, Barbara (pictured) grinned: “I’m incredibly biased – he’s beautiful.” Brand was presenting the Oscar for best foreign film, alongside Arthur co-star Helen Mirren, at the 2011 Academy Awards. But he seemed a little concerned with the category he had been given. “I don’t speak foreign,” he said. Brand revealed Mirren had helped him write his script for his Oscars debut and told him to express himself “creatively”. And he joked that their friendship could only go so far. “We can only take that certain limit because of Taylor [Hackford] and Katy,” he said. Asked how he copes while his pop star wife is away on tour, he said with a grin: “Every so often I just look at a photograph of her and smile. That’s enough.”

According to British newspaper the Daily Telegraph, Kate revealed the news at a Topshop dinner held during London Fashion Week. Dame Vivienne Westwood had previously speculated that Moss was designing her own gown. The 37-year-old and the Christian Dior creative director have been good friends since she began modelling. Moss is set to marry The Kills rocker Jamie Hince on July 2 at an undisclosed location.
No commentsKylie Minogue Thinking of Adoption
Kylie Minogue, who has previously admitted that her terrible battle with breast cancer may have affected her chances of having a baby of her own, recently told sources that she’s not opposed to turning to adoption or using a surrogate mother to have a child. In a recent interview, the Aussie pop singer said that the alternative plans for having children may be her best options. She said “I would look into those options because Âchildren and family are important to me.” I say go for it. If she really wants to have a family, not having a child out of her own body shouldn’t stop her.
No commentsAnne Hathaway and James Franco reveal ‘chemistry’ on US TV
Hot young Oscar hosts Anne Hathaway and James Franco said that they both turned down the offer to host Sunday’s Oscars at first but their ‘chemistry’ brought them together. The Devil Wears Prada star Hathaway said: "When I got asked to do it I said ‘no thank you I don’t think this is really for me’ and then they called back a couple of weeks later and said ‘well James Franco is in’ and I said ‘ooooh that is going to be interesting.’" When Robin Roberts, host of US morning show Good Morning America, commented on the couple’s chemistry the 127 Hours actor Franco, 32 said: "Well I’d admired her from afar for many years." Hathaway, 28, replied: "Oh James, it’s mutual." The 28-year-old actress later joked: "I think you [Franco] are hip and I’m young," when asked why she and Franco were chosen for the glitzy Hollywood award ceremony. Franco asked Hathaway, who was voted in People Magazine’s 50 Most Beautiful People, if she had dreams for marriage and babies. He said: "One of the reasons I was excited about Anne hosting was… well I thought maybe I had a shot but then I realised there is a boyfriend around so those dreams have been shot… so… just curious?" Anne replied that she hopes to ‘be a mommy in the next five years.’
No commentsDrew Barrymore dating new man?
Hollywood actress Drew Barrymore is rumoured to have embarked on a new relationship after being spotted on a lunch date with a new man. The 36-year-old Going The Distance star was seen enjoying a “cosy lunch” at celebrity favourite Joan’s On Third in LA, on Monday, with Will Kopelman – a 33-year-old art consultant and the son of former Chanel chief executive officer Arie Kopelman. The pair were spotted again yesterday walking arm-in-arm as they left the E. Baldi Italian restaurant in Beverly Hills. Barrymore has reportedly cooled her relationship with her on-off boyfriend Justin Long, despite previously telling Harper’s Bazaar magazine that she “couldn’t love, respect, admire and enjoy that individual more than I do”. According to People.com, a representative for Barrymore had no comment.
No commentsCourtney Love is in search of a new husband
While recently receiving the honor of being elected the first Non Executive Officer of Rock n’Roll of The Conservative Association of England’s Prestigious Oxford University Courtney Love admitted that she is looking for a new husband. This is what the president of the association related on the matter: "She said she wanted to launch a new life as a country squire. Her exact words to me were, I want to find a new husband. She thought we were the best place to find one." Courtney Love is currently involved with British art dealer Henry Allsopp so she’s well on her way to completing her goal. However, no one can really replace Kurt Cobain and in the depths of her soul, Courtney Love will probably always remain his wife… but it doesn’t hurt to have a little fun in the meantime.
No commentsShane Warne’s kids ’struggling’ with Liz Hurley relationship
Shane Warne’s children are said to be ’struggling’ to accept his relationship with Elizabeth Hurley. According to the Sunday Mirror, Brooke, 13, Jackson, 11, and Summer, eight, see the British actress as a ’scarlet woman’ who stole their father from their mother, Warne’s ex-wife Simone Callahan. A friend of Hurley told the newspaper, "They’re very upset about the fact Shane and their mother split up and are struggling with it all. Children and teenagers tend to see the world in black or white terms. "They acted very maturely and managed to be civil to Liz when they met. But they were very sombre and Shane noticed they weren’t very happy. Liz expected it to be hard… but she really has fallen for their dad and wants to make it work."
No commentsJohnny Depp Supports His Woman
Vanessa Paradis recently filled New York with her sweet music as the singer/actress performed a post-Valentine’s Day show in Manhattan. For two hours, Vanessa delighted a full house with some of her sweet melodies, dedicating one song to love and fire, and finishing out the night with a beautiful rendition of Jeff Buckley’s “Hallelujah”. Up in the balcony sat hubby Johnny Depp, reportedly smiling and completely fixated on the mother of his kids. When the show came to a close, the actor rose to his feet and cheered for his woman. He was soon joined by the entire crowd, giving Vanessa a standing ovation that lasted for several minutes. Can you feel the love yet?
No commentsKhloe Kardashian happy that sister Kim has found love
Khloe Kardashian has revealed she is happy that her sister Kim has found love. The reality star hooked up with NBA player Kris Humphries in 2010, and sister Khloe said she has never seen her sibling so happy. Speaking to US Weekly, Khloe said: "I’ve only met him one time, so I don’t really know. But I like him and I love how happy Kim is!" Stepfather Kris Jenner added: "He’s a very nice guy. He’s been over [to] the house. It’s very different for Kim."
No commentsCheryl Cole might have finally moved on
At this state it is pretty much just a rumor, but it seems that Cheryl Cole has finally begun dating once more and the ever so lucky guy who is going to be her rebound partner is supposedly her hair extension technician. Apparently Cheryl Cole and this mystery man had a date recently and this is what a source related about it: “They have a very special bond. Cheryl loves being around him and there is a definite connection there.” After all of the tattoos and strange confessions of still existing affection it looks like Cheryl Cole has finally decided that it’s high-time to move on to bigger and better things… or at least that might be the goal she has in mind.
No commentsTaylor Momsen wants to have a boyfriend
The singer from The Pretty Reckless recently admitted that, even though she is very into her career at the moment, it wouldn’t hurt to have a boyfriend too. This is what Taylor Momsen said on the matter: “Do I have time to meet guys? Well, at the moment not particularly, I don’t have a boyfriend right now. I love what I’m doing and I’m really proud of the record and excited about the tour, which is all positive. But, you know, I’m a girl. It’s not a priority for me but I’m a chick and every girl wants a guy. There’s no-one off the top of my head who takes my fancy though.” Taylor Momsen sure seems to be going pretty superficially about this so she might end up getting a superficial guy.
No commentsMatt Damon: Two-week rule keeps marriage strong
Actor Matt Damon has revealed that he sticks to a “two-week rule” when he’s filming to keep his marriage strong. The 40-year-old True Grit star said he makes sure that he isn’t apart from his wife Luciana for more than two weeks at a time. He told People Magazine: "We have a two-week rule. We don’t allow ourselves to be apart." He added: "When I did True Grit, I asked [directors] Joel and Ethan [Coen] to board the movie, so that I was never away from home for more than a week and they did that. "So I was working like two days a week and I would fly back [home]."
No commentsChristina Applegate: ‘Baby has helped me heal’
Christina Applegate has revealed that baby daughter Sadie has ‘helped her heal in so many ways’. The 39-year-old actress had a double mastectomy after being diagnosed with breast cancer in 2008, and said that her little girl has given her whole life a fresh, new focus. She told People, "I’ve had to talk about that word [cancer] more than I’ve ever had to talk about a word in my life. After a while you’re like, ‘There’s got to be something else to me’. "Now I’m Mum. She’s healed me in so many ways. She’s just made my life so much better. She’s opened my whole soul." She and fiancĂ© Martyn LeNoble, 41, welcomed their first child on January 27, and Applegate said it was like nothing she has ever experienced before. "I felt my heart literally open up for the first time and like wrap itself around her. It was profound," she said. "And I’m more in love with her every minute of the day. "I want to be the ultimate burper and diaper-changer. I want to be the ultimate at all of it. "Sometimes I stand there going, ‘I’m not doing any of this right!’ And then I get this big man belch out of her and I go, ‘Ah, we accomplished this together.’"
No commentsDannii Minogue and Louis Walsh ‘offered 1.25million X-Factor deals’
Simon Cowell is reportedly set to throw a ÂŁ1.25million deal onto the table to keep Dannii Minogue and Louis Walsh as judges on the UK X-Factor. The music mogul is gearing up to launch a much-hyped US version of the show, but in the meantime, a source told The Mirror that he wants to secure the loyalty of the two judges by upping their pay by around eight percent. With Simon and fellow judge Cheryl Cole off to the states, that leaves two seats empty and Robbie Williams, Gary Barlow and Nicole Scherzinger have all been suggested as possible replacements. But the insider added that Simon and Cheryl will still play a big role in the show. "There’s no way they’ll go off and forget about the UK show. Simon and Cheryl will be involved in some way during the UK series."
No commentsHeather Graham: ‘My relationships end in disaster’
Heather Graham has admitted that most of her celebrity romances ‘end in disaster’. The actress, who has dated leading men such as Matt Dillon and Corey Feldman, said that relationships founded on movie sets rarely go the distance. She told The Sun, "I’ve had flings with actors which usually end in disaster. You meet on a film but by the end of it you’re back to reality. "But I have enjoyed some good romantic situations over the years… Is Hollywood a more difficult place to meet men and have a real life? Yes, probably. But you can’t make an acting career all-important you have to enjoy life too. The actors I admire are not part of a machine, they are unique and individual." The 41-year-old added that she still hopes to have children one day. "I have thought about children," she said. "It would be romantic to be with someone and want to have a kid with them and being in love enough to want to have a baby. "I have thought about different guys along the lines of, ‘What would you be like as a father? Would they make a good parent?’ Sometimes the answer is ‘no’. I am looking for someone who would be a great dad – loving, fun, and sweet."
No commentsAshlee Simpson and Pete Wentz’s Divorce Long Time Coming
It came as a shock to a lot of people when Ashlee Simpson filed for divorce from her hubby Pete Wentz. I’m still reeling from the news, mainly because I still don’t know the reason why she’s doing it. From what I could tell, they were a happy family. However, sources are reporting that the singer/actress wanted out of the marriage for a very long time and even though Pete is begging her to reconsider, she’s had enough. A source even said that Pete had cried to Ashlee, insisting that they could make the relationship work but Ashlee didn’t budge. I am really curious as to what happened between them to lead to this.
No commentsSimon Cowell is still going to get married
The Earl of Exigency’s engagement to make-up artist Mezhgan Hussainy has already spanned a year and this had led to the belief that perhaps Simon Cowell and his fiancĂ©e will not ever be getting married. However, Mezhgan Hussainy’s mother recently came in and saved the idea by saying the following: “I’m very excited about the wedding. It’s on and we’re very happy for them. Simon is a wonderful man. He and my daughter will be living in LA when ‘US X Factor’ starts and we’re looking forward to seeing a lot more of them.” Could she have spilled some very classified information that Simon Cowell was perhaps keeping under wraps. It would appear so since there has been absolutely no mention of a wedding date. Leave it to the mother-in-law to spill the beans.

Heidi Klum knew straight away Seal would be a good dad
Heidi Klum has revealed she knew her husband Seal would be a good dad from the moment she met him. The supermodel met the singer in 2004 while she was pregnant with first child Leni, and said she knew he would be the perfect man to raise a family with. She told The Independent: “When I first met Seal he had a kindness and compassion that was so sincere I knew he’d be a good father. But it wasn’t until Leni was born and we had out three other children that I grasped what a great dad he is. He has infinite amounts of love and patience for our kids. He puts me and the children first.” The couple married in 2005 and renew their wedding vows every year.
