Cheryl Cole’s rumoured boyfriend Derek Hough has left the US version of Strictly Come Dancing to pursue his career in movies. Hough has revealed that he is taking a break from Dancing With The Stars (DWTS) in order to make his big-screen debut. The 25-year-old dancing pro has landed the lead role in the forthcoming movie Cobu 3D, which is due to start filming in New York and Toronto this spring. Hough will play a New Orleans street dancer who moves to New York and falls for an Asian drummer, played by Korean singer BoA. “People will see a much edgier side of me and these other styles of dance I’m capable of doing,” he told a US website. The three-times champion will skip Season 12 of the show, due to begin airing in March, but insists he will be back for the next series. “I will be making it back to Dancing With The Stars in the [autumn],” he said. “I’m just taking a break and taking the chance to grow and expand a little bit as an artist. It’s like I told one of the producers on the show — I’ll come back with a whole new set of skills.” DWTS producers are standing by Hough’s decision, but looking forward to having him back for Season 13. Executive producer Conrad Green said: “We wish Derek the best as he takes time off from Dancing With The Stars to pursue his film career, and look forward to having him return to the show in the fall.”

50 Cent and Ciara not getting along too well

January 31st, 2011 | Category: 50 Cent, Dating

It seems that the two singers aren’t really under the most friendly of terms. A quick look at their twitter activity would reflect this very clearly. In reply to Ciara tweeting about how tweets reflect a person’s character, 50 Cent had this to reply: “Yea I tweet things that reflect my character bitch. I have a sense of humor get one.lol that’s why your 3 mill followers behind me.” Supposedly there were rumors going around about 50 Cent and Ciara actually having a thing for one another, but it pretty much looks like that particular ship has sailed. At least 50 Cent still has his sense of humor.

princewilliam.jpg

Prince William and Kate Middleton have reportedly been told by the Queen they can stay out of the public eye for their first two years of marriage. The pair will marry in April this year and it is claimed the Queen believes Kate, 29, should be given the time to adjust to life as a royal bride. A source said to UK newspaper The Sun: “This is the best wedding present William could have hoped for. The Queen knows there is enormous pressure when the heir to the throne first marries.” William, 28, will then be allowed to focus on his career in the RAF instead of spending more time on his royal public duties. However William and Kate will travel overseas for a number of tours once they are pronounced husband and wife on April 29, when they are due to marry at Westminster Abbey.

Emma Bunton is now engaged

January 25th, 2011 | Category: Celebs Engaged, Spice Girls

It looks like the former Spice Girls are finally growing up now and getting on with their lives. Newly on the engaged list is Emma Bunton who is apparently going to be getting married to her boyfriend, Jade Jones, who after an eleven-year relationship finally managed to pop the question. This is what Emma Bunton had to say on the matter: “Yes I’m engaged. We’ve got a second baby on the way and we’re getting married so it’s all very exciting!” Well it sure took them long enough… but, better late than never, as the old saying goes. After all, Emma Bunton and Jade Jones have been together for so long and already have children, this is probably not going to change a thing. Maybe they did it just for the excuse of having a massive party.

Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez are being subtle

January 21st, 2011 | Category: Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez

Probably after the little love hut thing, they’ve decided that it would be prudent to keep things a little on the low key side so Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez have started avoiding being photographed together. Apparently they attended Jessica Jarrell’s sweet sixteen recently and also the Golden Globes but there isn’t one freaking photograph of them together. Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez might want to cut it out with the subtlety though because if they keep this up, the flesh-eaters will eventually get their scent and then there will be no stopping them. And a paparazzi rush is a pretty strong catalyst for ending a relationship.
