Lord of the Rings star Billy Boyd got married with his co-stars Elijah Wood and Dominic Monaghan by his side. Boyd, 42, who played hobbit Pippin in the the films, married ballet dancer Ali McKinnon, the mother of his son Jack, four. Elijah, who played the character of Frodo in the movies, and Monaghan watched on as they married in Glasgow. McKinnon wore a knee-length ivory dress while the groom donned a smart three-piece suit. The happy couple, who met doing panto together in 2002, were joined by 30 family and friends for the service and celebrated with 130 people at the reception.

Ryan Phillippe has insisted that he ‘wishes nothing but the best’ for his recently engaged ex-wife Reese Witherspoon. The former couple met at Witherspoon’s 21st birthday and married in 1999. They went on to have children Ava, 11, and Deacon, eight, together before divorcing in 2007. Now Witherspoon has agreed to marry Hollywood agent Jim Toth, but Phillippe said that she has his blessing. Speaking to the New York Daily News, Phillippe said, “I’m very happy for both Reese and Jim.” He added, “I wish nothing but the best for the mother of my children.”

Cat Deeley has insisted she doesn’t want to marry unless she knows it is going to be a success. The 34-year-old presenter split with actor Jack Huston in June, but said she is in no hurry to rush down the isle. She told The Mirror: “At some stage I think I’d like to tie the knot. My mum and dad have been married for over 30 years and they’ve had a great relationship. But that success is really hard to emulate. When you’ve seen something work so brilliantly, you almost don’t want to settle for it not being fantastic. The same question could be asked of me in 10 years’ time and I may go ‘No, marriage is not for me’. It does constantly change all the time but, right now, I like the concept!” The British star added that becoming an aunty to brother Max’s two children has not set her biological clock ticking. “Being a mum is all about being in the right place at the right time but quite often families just sneak up on you when you least expect it. I’m open to everything but not worrying about anything,” she said. “At the moment there is no way I could factor a family into my life. I’m doing a million things but being an auntie is a way of getting all the pleasure and enjoyment. I can be totally bonkers and spoil them.”

Helena Bonham Carter has revealed that partner Tim Burton’s snoring is a major factor in their decision to live apart. The long-term couple, who have children Billy Ray, seven, and Nell, three, famously live in adjoining apartments in London and the kooky actress says Burton’s ‘deviated septum’ and her ‘bossiness’ are to blame. The 44-year-old told the Radio Times, “Tim does snore, and that’s an element. We’ve tried lots of remedies that don’t work. He has a deviated septum and doesn’t want an operation.” But she said that far from being a disadvantage, the arrangement has actually helped their nine-year relationship. “We see as much of each other as any couple, but our relationship is enhanced by knowing we have our personal space to retreat to,” she explained. “It’s not enforced intimacy. It’s chosen, which is quite flattering if you can afford it.”

Sources reveal that Sam popped the question on their hotel balcony at sunset. A source said “It has been a terrible time for Lily and Sam, but they are totally in love with one another. It all came out of the blue – but Lily was overwhelmed and they are both overjoyed. They can look to the future now. Lily was telling everyone that she and Sam had just got engaged – they could not keep the smiles off their faces. It couldn’t have been more romantic. Rumours of a romance between Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz are hotting up after the pair were spotted enjoying a snug Christmas in the English countryside. The pair met earlier this year on the set of Dream House, where Weisz is said to have “fallen head over heels” for her co-star. Craig reportedly ended his engagement to producer Satsuki Mitchell days after Weisz split with director Darren Aronofsky. According to The News of the World, they spent the festive period in a cosy country cottage near the town of Yeovil. A source who spotted the pair out for a Christmas walk, said: “‘Daniel and Rachel looked like a romantic couple in a film. They were laughing and hanging on to each other’s words and stopping to take photos of each other.” And one of the drinkers in the local pub where the duo are believed to have spent Christmas Eve said: “They were clinging to each other like honeymooners. The chemistry was obvious.”

Camille Grammer has revealed that she is still in love with her soon-to-be ex-husband Kelsey Grammer. The Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills star said that she has found it hard to cope since Grammer got engaged to British air hostess Kayte Walsh. She told Extra, “We’ve been together for 14 years. I thought we had a really good run of it. I still love my husband, my soon to be ex-husband. “He’s in love. He’s getting married, so I don’t think there’s any reconciliation. Someone gets engaged and tells you he’s going to get married in January and we’re still legally married.” She added, “I respect him as a person, I don’t respect how he handled the affair and the divorce and how things went down.”

Simon Cowell’s fiance Mezhgan Hussainy has reportedly told him she wants them to see the New Year in together alone. The pair are currently on holiday in Barbados along with Cowell’s ex-girlfriends Sinitta and Terri Seymour but she is said to have told the X Factor judge she wants them to leave before the New Year. Hussainy, 36, flew out after Cowell, 51, as she had to oversee building work at his London home. A source said to UK newspaper Daily Mirror: “Simon and Mish haven’t spent much time together of late, but Simon has vowed to give their relationship another shot and give her his all. “He originally tried to fly her out on his private jet but that got grounded so she flew first-class on a standard 747 instead. Simon greeted her with champagne and they had a romantic supper together on Tuesday evening. “But one of the conditions she has laid down is that Sinitta b*****s off out of the way. She wants alone time with her man. Simon has agreed, and now he and Mezhgan will be celebrating New Year’s Eve together on his yacht, the Slipstream.”

British toy store Early Learning Centre plan to sell a Royal Wedding toy set next year to mark the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton. Their ‘HappyLand Royal Wedding Set’ is set to go on sale in February 2011 and it costs £15.00 but is available to pre-order now. In its description on the ELC’s website, it says: “Prince William and Kate sit in a gold trimmed horse-drawn carriage while The Queen, Prince Phillip and their favourite Corgi are protected by a Royal Cavalry soldier in full uniform and a foot soldier wearing a smart red jacket and bearskin helmet.” Prince William will marry fiance Kate Middleton in a ceremony at Westminster Abbey in London on April 29 next year. The toy set is being aimed at children from 18 months to four years and it claims children will have ‘hours of fun’ playing wedding scenes with the toys.

Zara Phillips has got engaged to her boyfriend Mike Tindall just weeks after her cousin Prince William. Zara, 29, has been dating the rugby player, 32, for the last seven years and the British Monarchy recently released a statement revealing the happy news. The statement read: “The Princess Royal and Captain Mark Phillips are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter Zara Phillips to Mr Mike Tindall.” Zara is the daughter of Princess Anne, the daughter of the Queen, and Zara’s cousin Prince William announced his engagement to Kate Middleton last month after he popped the question in October.

Zac Hanson’s wife, Kate, has given birth to a baby girl last Wednesday that the couple has decided to name Junia Rosa Ruth. The Hanson drummer said “We couldn’t imagine a better Christmas gift than this sweet little girl. In just the short time she’s been here, she’s enriched our family and our lives beyond measure. We’re looking forward to celebrating the season with our family and introducing her to everyone.” Talk about a true Christmas gift. Newly single Jenny McCarthy is looking for a man to kiss on New Year’s Eve but she says he won’t be a celebrity. The star, who split with movie joker Jim Carrey earlier this year, told Ryan Seacrest’s KIIS-FM radio show she wants a man to smooch to welcome in 2011. Jenny, who will be partying in New York’s famous Times Square on New Year’s Eve, said: “All those single men I hope go to Times Square. “I’m going to be looking for someone to make out with at midnight.” But she added: “I can’t do any celebrities. Former MTV host Vanessa Minnillo has denied reports that she will be tying the knot with fiancé Nick Lachey over the New Year. Lachey, 30, appeared on US talk show The Rachael Ray Show earlier this week and hinted that they plan to marry in Italy over the New Year. But speaking to Hollyscoop.com, Minnillo said: “He was joking, we’re not getting married in Italy.” She added: “I think that’s the game of telephone, he said it sarcastically and it was misconstrued in print. We’re not [getting married in Italy], but that would be a great idea. “I think Rachael [Ray] got married in Italy, so that’s how the media spun it.”

Apparently Courtney Love has already moved in with him and will be staying there for a while to rid herself of some nasty prescription habits. Former 90210 star Shannen Doherty has revealed she would contemplate marriage in order to have kids. The 39-year-old actress, who has two marriages under her belt, said that if she was “100 per cent sure” then she would do it all again. She told People: “I would consider getting married again because I want kids. That’s why I would do it. I believe in marriage as a whole because my parents were married for 43 years, so I have the best example in the world of what marriage can be. You just have to be 100 per cent sure. You have to go in with your eyes wide open and realise that it’s probably going to take a lot of work and maybe some couples therapy perhaps.” She added: “When the going gets tough, you don’t get going – you hang in. So marriage to me is such a gigantic commitment that it’s not something I’d ever go into lightly any more. I’ve learned my lesson.”

The 39-year-old actress has previously been involved with other bad-boy stars including Charlie Sheen with whom she has two daughters, Sam and Lola datinand Bon Jovi rocker Richie Sambora. The pair were spotted having breakfast at the Marmalade Cafe in Calabasas, California, on the morning of 12 December. An onlooker told Us Weekly: “Nikki was telling stories, and Denise was laughing.” The night before their breakfast date, Sixx, 52, alluded to a special someone in a message he posted on his Twitter page, saying that he had a “midnight rendezvous planned with a beautiful maiden”.

Actress Anna Friel has reportedly ended her nine-year relationship with David Thewlis. According to British newspaper The Daily Mail, the couple have gone their separate ways. Friel, 34, and Thewlis, 47, who got together in 2001 and have a five-year-old daughter, Gracie, have allegedly been forced apart by acting commitments over the past six months. A friend told the newspaper: “Things have not been great for a long time and they have tried to keep this quiet to protect everyone. “It certainly did not help that Anna and David have been forced to live apart for so long, but there are other issues at hand that have made them realise the relationship was over.” The publication reported that friends are still hopeful they will reconcile. The source added: “They do care about each other very much, and the most important thing now is that they both continue to be the best parents they can be for Gracie. “They will have to see each other over Christmas at some point, but hopefully it will not be too painful.”
