Charlie Sheen’s ex-wife Denise Richards has revealed that she still has “faith” in her ex-husband, despite his alleged trashing of a New York hotel suite following a reported drink and drugs binge. The former Spin City star said she and Sheen had a “great time” with their two daughters, Sam and Lola, on a family weekend that turned sour after the Two And A Half Men star was taken to hospital following the incident at New York’s Plaza Hotel. Richards appeared on the Today Show to promote her new TV show Blue Mountain State, but remained tight-lipped about Sheen’s meltdown and subsequent hospitalisation in the early hours of yesterday morning. “I have a lot of faith in my ex,” said Richards, who divorced Sheen in 2006. “Charlie will always be a part of my life, we are bonded together forever. It doesn’t matter what the situation is, he will still be their dad. “It was unfortunate what happened, I can’t control what happened. All I can do is move forward, I control my house and the girls and they are happy, beautiful children. “I am concerned about our children, and my concern is to keep them protected and, thank God, they are still five and six and still cannot just turn on the television or computer to read the news.” She added: “We came out here together, we flew out, Charlie was with us when we saw Mary Poppins; he and I took them to the museum and shopping. We had a great time.” When asked if she had spoken to Sheen today and what had happened in the Wall Street star’s suite at the Plaza Hotel, Richards said: “Charlie is back in L.A. I haven’t spoken to him today, it is a bit early out there. “I did not call [999], I was not screaming or freaking out. Other than that, the details of what went on in the room I would prefer to keep private and personal.”

Gossip Girl stars Penn Badgley and Blake Lively have reportedly ended their three-year relationship. Penn and Lively, both 23, called it quits in September, a rep for the pair allegedly told US Weekly magazine. An insider told the publication: “They’re professionals. “They’re still good friends and hang out on the set.” The source added that the actors had kept it to themselves for a while and even some people close to them may be shocked to hear the news. The insider added: “Nobody on set had any idea, they’re really just private.”

The Iron Man actor, who has a 17-year-old son Indio with first wife Deborah Falconer, is keen to hear the patter of tiny feet with current wife Susan Levin. “I want another kid or rather I want Susan to and I’d like to contribute,” he told US chat show host Jay Leno. “I’d like a girl,” he admitted, when asked whether he had any preference when it came to the baby’s sex. Downey Jr., who is currently filming the Sherlock Holmes sequel in London, looked like he had borrowed the detective’s wardrobe when he stepped out into Leno’s studio. The talk show host even picked up on his dress sense, saying: “That’s a very English look you have tonight. Are those clothes from Sherlock Holmes?” “These are clothes from Prada,” the actor replied. Downey Jr. also confessed that he has failed to quit smoking yet again, despite repeatedly trying to kick the habit. “I deserve better, the movie-going public deserves better. Leave me alone, I’m doing the best I can.” Asked if he planned to try and quit again, he joked: “Of course I will. It’s easy. I’ve done it hundreds of times.”

The Iron Man star has opened up about his desire to add to his family, revealing he and wife Susan hope to welcome a new arrival in the near future. “I think I will be wrist-deep in doo-doo within 18 months. I’m calling it right here,” Downey declared. The actor is already father to son Indio, 17, from his previous marriage to Deborah Falconer, and thinks one boy is enough. “I think we should probably try to have a girl, because I don’t want another male entity to have to compete; I don’t want Indio to feel there’s another boy in my life. But I don’t know what we’d have to do [to have a girl]. Do we have to put it in a spoon and hang it upside-down?” he said to Playboy. Explaining his attitude to fatherhood, Downey told the magazine: “The upside is doing what you’re supposed to do, what feels righteous. And there is another 18 years, legally, of thankless blood, sweat and tears.”

Never Let Me Go star Keira Knightley did not attend the premiere of a film written and directed by her boyfriend Rupert Friend because she was ill. The 25-year-old, who stars in the short film, failed to make an appearance at yesterday’s premiere as she was unwell. When Rupert was asked where Keira was, he said she was feeling ‘under the weather’. Prior to the screening of Steve at Southbank’s National Film Theatre in London, the 29-year-old said working with Knightley was ‘amazing’. Friend, who has previously acted with Keira in 2005 flick Pride and Prejudice, hadn’t planned to work with her on the project but would definitely do it again.

The 65-year-old waved a white handkerchief when she told reporters yesterday at London’s Royal Festival Hall about her soft spot for Willis. She said: “I still have a crush on Bruce – he gave me his hanky and I’m going to keep it and protect it.” Bruce, 55, who plays retired CIA agent Frank Moses in the new flick, returned the compliment. He said: “Helen is great, she’s so sexy, beautiful and gracious, I’m flattered that she has a crush on me – I’m a big fan of hers. “I feel like I’m blushing – am I red?” Mirren plays assassin Victoria Winslow in Red, a film centred around Willis who tracks down his former associates after finding out he is being targeted by new CIA agents. Romestrand has reportedly let slip to pals about her new romance, claiming that she had stayed overnight at royal residence Clarence House, and that Harry had even served her breakfast in bed. “She’s confided to a few people about her friendship with Harry. She talks about staying overnight at ‘the Palace’. She says he was a ‘total gentleman’ but doesn’t divulge much else,” a source told the News of the World. “She doesn’t want to talk openly about Harry because she’s worried it will overshadow her music.”
