Comic Russell Brand reportedly cancelled a TV appearance by his girlfriend Katy Perry so they could spend the night in bed

Comic Russell Brand reportedly cancelled a TV appearance by his girlfriend Katy Perry so they could spend the night in bed.

Perry, 25, was due to be a guest on BBC radio host Chris Moyle’s TV show Chris Moyles’ Quiz Night but Brand, 34, phoned the show hours before her appearance and said she wouldn’t be coming.

Producers then panicked as they struggled to find somebody to replace her as the guest in the first episode. They later persuaded Mamma Mia! star Dominic Cooper to appear.

A source said to UK newspaper The Sun: “Katy was due to be the star guest on Chris’s show.

“But he got a call from Russell late the night before telling him Katy wouldn’t be appearing as they wanted to spend the evening together.

“Chris was a bit annoyed but thinks Katy is hot as well – and if she was his girlfriend he would probably do the same!”

Adam Duritz found love in the strangest of places:

November 14th, 2009 | Category: Love

One must wonder if he was actually looking for it, though. It seems the singer from Counting Crows who is now involved with actress Emmy Rossum met her on twitter. She said the following about her new relationship with Adam Duritz: “I was on tour with the band this summer. They invited me actually on Twitter. That’s how we met – on a dare. They dared me to come sing with them a song that I’d never sung before . So I ended up on tour with the band, and it was very, very fun.” It’s nice to see that twitter brings people together like that. Adam Duritz is a tribute to twitter users everywhere… he’s not like some others who put cat lives in danger because of their unwillingness to participate in the mass-mind washing system.

Peter Andre won’t be staying single for long

November 13th, 2009 | Category: Peter Andre

It seems the singer who divorced Katie Price recently doesn’t plan on spending too much time on his own. Apparently, Peter Andre is now interested in Alexandra Burke of which he told a friend the following: “I think she’s really cool. She’s seriously hot and once I’ve cooked for her, she won’t be able to resist.” Peter Andre is probably going to be preparing roasted ex-wife for Alexandra Burke… she’ll most certainly enjoy that, especially since Peter Andre is bound to invest so much passion in the cooking process. Hopefully, luck will be with her and she will not choke on a bone or something.

Steven Tyler Still in Aerosmith

November 13th, 2009 | Category: Singer

Steven Tyler recently appeared at the 2009 Glamour Women of the Year Awards. When the rock singer was asked about the rumors that he was leaving his band behind, he replied “Does it look like I’m leaving Aerosmith? You know what it is, it’s those people who are putting out Joe’s [Perry] album. Joe’s doing a solo album. So people are paying attention to that.” Steven also happens to be working on a solo album himself. There may be some tension between the two but I don’t think that leads up to an Aerosmith break up just yet. For now, the band could be said to be taking a break but not a split.

Russell Brand and Katy Perry have reportedly recorded their own version of the poem The Owl And The Pussycat

November 13th, 2009 | Category: Katy Perry, Song

SPL135036_011

Russell Brand and Katy Perry have reportedly recorded their own version of the poem The Owl And The Pussycat.

Brand, 34, is currently dating the Hot and Cold singer, 25, and it is claimed they have penned their own version of Edward Lear’s poem.

A source said to UK newspaper The Sun: “Russell was just messing around in the studio with Katy. He was pretending to sing into the mic and started reciting the poem, The Own And The Pussycat, with the lines: ‘Oh lovely Pussy! Oh Pussy my love, what a beautiful Pussy you are.’

“It transpired the poem is a private joke between the couple. Russell apparently recited it to Katy during their Thailand holiday and they often use the nicknames Owl and Pussycat.

“Russell is ‘Owl’ because he’s wise and, well, it’s fairly obvious that Katy’s a sex kitten, isn’t it? He has an amazing delivery. Katy blushed at the line: ‘O let us be married, too long have we tarried’ then joined in, singing a refrain to Russell’s speech.

“That’s when it dawned on everyone. It was actually really good. With work, it could be a really interesting track, evocative of The Goons or Monty Python. They were very harmonious. Everyone was transfixed.”

David Grohl’s musician blind date

November 12th, 2009 | Category: Dating

It seems the Foo Fighters singer managed to gather up the musicians for his new side-project, Them Crooked Vultures, by organizing a “blind date” at a medieval banquet. David Grohl got together with John Paul Jones from Led Zeppelin and Josh Homme from Queens of the Stone Age. About the meeting, David Grohl had this to say: “It was weird, the blind date, but I was aware of Josh’s music obviously – I couldn’t imagine it not working.” Of course it would work… David Grohl probably had them going right from “medieval banquet”… still, one must wonder if all of this happened now or in an alternate universe where the three lived in Medieval times.

Ellen DeGeneres gushes partner Portia de Rossi is ‘perfect’

November 10th, 2009 | Category: Actress, Love

SPL71693_007

Chat show host Ellen DeGeneres has revealed she is ’settled’ with her ‘perfect’ spouse and actress Portia de Rossi.

DeGeneres gushes about her partner in a new interview with Oprah’s magazine O.

She also appears on the cover of the December issue covered in Christmas lights alongside Oprah, who is holding the power switch.

Inside, the 51-year-old lesbian comedienne reveals she and de Rossi, 36, are ‘perfect for each other’.

“She is so beautiful and so smart and so funny. I have that sense of ‘I’m done now.’ I’m settled,” she reveals.

“I know that part of my life is taken care of. I’ve got love. I’ve got someone who will be with me till the day I die,” she said of the sultry Australian actress.

The couple were married on Aug. 16, 2008 before the passage of Proposition 8 that bans gay marriage in California in November of the same year.

Olivia Wilde re-enacts moment that crushed Megan Fox’s famous fantasy

November 10th, 2009 | Category: Megan Fox

Screen siren Olivia Wilde re-enacted the cringeworthy moment that she says crushed Megan Fox’s famous girl-on-girl fantasy.

The House actress described how her embarrassing encounter with the Transporters hottie – who once said that Wilde is “so sexy, she makes me want to strangle a mountain ox” – made the crush “evaporate” into thin air.

Using fellow Tonight Show guest Jim Carrey as Fox’s stand-in, the TV star described how the two came face-to-face at a party following Fox’s well-publicised comment.

“We had not met when she said that very flattering and kind comment,” said Wilde, who wowed audiences in a figure-hugging black bustier dress and scarlet lipstick.

“But afterwards, we were at a party, and I saw all the crowd part so I knew something was happening, then I saw this beautiful woman sauntering up to me.

“She said, ‘I don’t know if you know, but I said this thing about you.’”

Wilde, 25, said Fox’s smouldering presence reduced her to a babbling wreck.

“I was like, “Yeah, I saw it, it was so funny – no, I wasn’t offended. It was so nice!

“I said ‘I thought it was so kind. And I thought I should send you a ‘Thank You’ note’.

“And her face just sort of dropped and I could see her crush evaporating,” she told host Conan O’Brien.

“She walked away and my friend was like ‘Urgh, ‘Thank You’ notes are not sexy’.”

Wilde, married to Italian Prince Tao Ruspoli, was number one in this year’s Maxim Hot 100 List.

Robbie Williams proposing to girlfriend

November 10th, 2009 | Category: Celebs Engaged, Robbie Willliams

The singer has been acting very odd lately and now we are given the reason to suspect why. It seems Robbie Williams wants to go on ahead and propose to his girlfriend, Ayda Field. Of course, Robbie Williams didn’t give a certain answer… when does he ever, but he did hint toward it when asked about the matter: “I might be. It could be on the cards… yeah.” So this is what’s been keeping him from engaging in his usual artistic duties. Maybe after Robbie Williams gets done with this, we’ll have Take That back too… or at least, one can dream.

Mark Owen got hitched

November 09th, 2009 | Category: Dating

The singer from Take That and Emma Fergusson have recently been married. Apparently everybody was excited about the wedding, but very heartbroken when they didn’t get to see Mark Owen and Emma Fergusson exiting the church together. Elaine Brown who was present at the ceremony said: “They didn’t even let us see the happy couple. I know it’s their special day but they could have let us have a glimpse.” Well, that’s what they have pictures for, isn’t it? Oh, and Robbie Williams apparently failed to show up at the wedding. Bad move on his behalf… again, but Mark Owen will probably find it in his heart to forgive him when they get together to sing side by side once more.

50 Cent wants a part in a romantic comedy:

November 09th, 2009 | Category: 50 Cent, Dating

It seems the rapper has grown tired of being a hardcore gangsta’ and wants the world to see his more… sensitive side. Not to brag, but 50 Cent apparently just wants to get a girlfriend by staring in a romantic comedy. 50 Cent said the following on the matter: “It would be interesting for people to see that side of me. It would be a challenge, but I’ve seen artists like Ice Cube transition and challenge themselves. It’s easier if a woman accepts you as a manly man. But a softer moment works, too, because then she’ll suddenly see you as a romantic!” Yeah, 50 Cent should really go with that and keep believing it… who knows, eventually it might work out for him.

Katie Price and Peter Andre bond at Harvey’s bedside

November 06th, 2009 | Category: Love, Peter Andre

The recently divorced couple has apparently managed to put aside their staggering differences in order to be with their sick son Harvey who was rushed into the hospital two days ago. Speaking about recent events involving Peter Andre, Katie Price said: “This has brought everything back to reality and put all the petty fighting into perspective.” Right, because up until now they were living in a fantasy land where Katie Price was the mean old witch and Peter Andre was the sad prince with no kingdom to rule… it’s good that they’ve managed to regain their roles as real people.

Lie detector test proves stripper’s sex claims: expert

November 05th, 2009 | Category: Black Eyed Peas, Fergie

SPL107496_023

A polygraph expert has publicly backed a stripper’s claims she had sex with Fergie’s new husband Josh Duhamel, according to reports.

Atlanta-based Kenneth E. Blackstone told radaronline that blonde dancer Nicole Forrester was telling the truth when quizzed over her alleged fling with Duhamel.

The actor has strenuously denied the rumours.

Blackstone is reportedly a certified examiner and expert witness regarding the proper use of polygraph in civil, clinical and criminal testing.

He told the entertainment website: “The polygraph examination showed Nicole Forrester was being non-deceptive, telling the truth when she answered my questions.

“One of those questions was had she had sex with Josh Duhamel. And she answered yes.”

Duhamel vehemently denies any sexual contact with Forrester and Black Eyed Peas singer Fergie has reportedly refused to believe the rumours.

In a statement Duhamel’s rep said: “This is not the first nor will it be the last time that a stripper was paid a large amount of money to sell a false story about a celebrity. This story is absolutely ridiculous.”

Joel Madden’s name choice

November 05th, 2009 | Category: Family, Music Band

It seems the rocker from Good Charlotte chose to name his son Sparrow so that it would make his life difficult. Joel Madden related the following about his choice for his son’s name: “It reminded me of the Johnny Cash song ‘A Boy Named Sue.’ My worry raising a son in Hollywood is, what will he have to struggle for? I wanted to give him a name that he’s going to have to stand up for. I love it, I think it’s a beautiful name.” Somehow it is doubtful that Joel Madden’s plan is going to work. How many bullies are there in Hollywood anyway? And from that limited number, how many would pick on a kid just for having the name “Sparrow”… especially when his dad is a rocker. Not too much thought put into the matter there, Joel Madden.

Joss Stone’s record deal

November 05th, 2009 | Category: Records Sale, Singer

It wasn’t as orthodox as some may think. Joss Stone recently admitted that she offered her house to her record company in order to release “Color Me Free” since they didn’t consider it a big enough commercial success to bother with. Joss Stone said the following on the matter: “It got to the point where I said, ‘Take my house and release the record.’ The thing is, I just made an album and I wanted people to like it. I did not think anything of it. Why did it have to be a big deal? Why does it have to focus on being a number one song? Fuck that, I can’t be bothered.” Well, if Joss Stone wants to be an artist, she’d better give up trying to reason with the record company and just perform locally, otherwise, she’s just a manufacturer in the big industry of music.

Nas and Kelis at it again

November 03rd, 2009 | Category: Celebs Divorce

It seems that divorce just wasn’t enough… now Nas has filed a request that he no longer pay spousal support to Kelis. It seems that Nas had to pay 55000 dollars per month as spousal and child support to Kelis, but he now wants that number reduced to be just for child support. It seems that Kelis will have to reduce her lifestyle a little since Nas is no longer going to be paying off those pleasure bills. At least the kids will have plenty of treat money… that is, if Kelis spends it in their best interest, wouldn’t be the first time that doesn’t happen.

Winona Ryder opens up about life with Johnny Depp

November 03rd, 2009 | Category: Celebrities, Dating

Winona Ryder has opened up about her relationship with Johnny Depp – saying “things changed” when she met the Pirates of the Caribbean heartthrob.

The Beetlejuice star said she was stunned by the media attention heaped on the young couple.

She said: “Things changed for me when I met Johnny.

“This weird thing happens when you’re written about in magazines, where you start to think, ‘This is who I am. This is how I have to be.’ I felt restricted and pressured into being the way people perceived me. It was hard for me to find my footing.”

Winona, 38, said: “The Johnny thing made me really afraid of the press because, even though it was about him, I was beside him the entire time.”

The pair met in 1989 and got engaged in July 1990 but split three years later.

Winona also tells how she was left hurt by suggestions that she got jealous of Angelina Jolie’s Oscar win for Girl, Interrupted.

Ryder, who also starred in the 1999 film with Jolie, said: “I was hurt that people thought that. Everyone assumed I was really jealous because I thought this would be my vehicle.

“We said from the very beginning that the actress who played Lisa [Jolie's part] would probably win an Oscar, because it was the big, great, showy part.

“I fought very hard for her [Jolie] to have that part.”
