Paula Abdul won Simon Cowell’s heart

October 16th, 2009 | Category: Love, Paula Abdul, Simon Cowell, life

It seems that the former American Idol judge has stolen the heart of her colleague, Simon Cowell, who apparently keeps telling her he loves her. Paula Abdul related the following: “I’ve talked to Simon. He misses me, and I know it. I talk to him a lot – he says he loves me and that is really disturbing to me.” Yeah, when a man like Simon Cowell starts loving people, it really is a disturbing thing. Paula Abdul has every right to be worried… actually, she should probably quit showbiz and retreat on a secluded mountain for a few year, for the Earl of Exigency has a grasp far beyond the comprehension of us mere mortals.

Wolfmother Cosmic Egg Album Premiere

October 16th, 2009 | Category: Album, Song, Widget, Wolfmother

If there was ever a question of what would come of Wolfmother after the departure of two founding members then now is the time to stop asking and start listening. Wolfmother has just unveiled their entire forthcoming album, Cosmic Egg, on MySpace and with each track a nail in the coffin of the past is hammered further in resulting in a full blown rock explosion into the present. When describing the new Wolfmother Kerrang! said the band, “have exceeded expectation, proving themselves modern masters of riff-centered, bass-heavy bong rock alchemy. Almost every track contains something fresh and off kilter while remaining immediate and throat-grabbing at the same time.”

Cosmic Egg arrives October 27th, and features the single “New Moon Rising.” For more information on Wolfmother, and where you can catch them on tour, visit www.Wolfmother.com and listen to Cosmic Egg now at MySpace.com

Alice in Chains talk with Metallica about new album

October 16th, 2009 | Category: Album, Alice In Chains, Metallica, Song, Video

Today, and for the next 3 weeks, AOL’s Noisecreep.com will be releasing an exclusive and/or unheard audio clip from the amazing FMQB Metallica/Alice in Chains interview, “Inside Alice In Chains: Black Gives Way To Blue.” This week’s clip features Metallica talking to Alice in Chains about their collaboration with Elton John on the song “Black Gives Way To Blue.” “It’s a really intense song, and a really open-hearted song to Layne and the experience that we went through,” Cantrell says to Hetfield and Ulrich about the title track. “Facing up to all of that stuff, and owning all the good, and owning all the bad, and moving forward together. It was a lot of big steps…things were pretty black for us. It’s pretty literal to that, and things are starting to get a little lighter.” Keep checking back in the coming weeks for parts 2 and 3 of this classic interview.

Peter Andre receiving threats

October 15th, 2009 | Category: Peter Andre

It seems that Katie Price’s new boyfriend around whom there has been a great deal of controversy is pulling an even better stunt and threatening her former husband, Peter Andre. Alex Reid, the man in question, supposedly said the following when Peter Andre called Katie Price to ask to speak to the children: “I’m the man of the house now! I’ll come round and sort you out.” Well, isn’t that very a alpha-male/numskull barbarian way of taking to the guy who was there before you? Katie Price must really be happy to have this guy at her side, he seems like a real keeper.

Katy Perry wants to take Russell Brand to mom and dad

October 12th, 2009 | Category: Dating, Katy Perry, Love

It seems that the brave Russell Brand is about to start his epic journey in his new serious relationship with singer Katy Perry. The first noble task: meeting her parents. And of course, no adventure of this proportion could begin without any initial challenge, as a source relates: “Katy is as besotted with Russell as he is with her. Katy is sure that, after they get used to him, they would approve of Russell, but she wants to get that initial meeting out of the way as early as she can. Keith and Mary are devoted to the church and hold the institution of marriage as a central core of their beliefs. They are genuinely happy for their daughter, but want to give Russell the once-over to check that he is suitable.” The race is on then! We shall see how the young Russell Brand shall fare in polishing the stains off of his name in front of Katy Perry’s parents.

Andy Williams to be at the next Glastonbury

October 12th, 2009 | Category: Concert, Music

The singer has recently been booked by the festival’s organizer, Michael Eavis, to attend next year’s edition of the festival. Michael Eavis said the following about getting Andy Williams to play at Glastonbury: “The expectations are really high. We’re trying to get the best headliners in the world.” Apparently, tickets for the show sold in less than 24 hours after being put on sale. Either Andy Williams still has a great deal of old fans, or most people just don’t really care about the music and go there only for the name’s sake. After all, who could possibly want to go to a festival with no certain line-up?

Alexandra Burke in need of a boyfriend

October 09th, 2009 | Category: Dating

The singer has recently been complaining about the long time she spent being single. Alexandra Burke said: “I was 16 when I had my first relationship. It lasted about two years. Then I dated another guy for six months last year but he was a bit of a nutcase. I let him go just before ‘X Factor’ went live. He was very insecure and I have no time for that. There’s been no one since. I am looking for a boyfriend though. I have never been in love but I want to feel that. I’m ready for it.” Poor guy, wasn’t aware that being insecure actually makes you a nutcase, but hey, Alexandra Burke must know what she’s talking about. After all, she’s an X Factor participant… that must’ve been the most rational decision she ever made. At least it took her places…

Jennifer Hudson’s C-section work-out

October 09th, 2009 | Category: Celebs Babies, Jennifer Hudson

The singer and actress who has recently given birth to her first son with husband David Otunga admitted that the C-section she went through was a synch as she felt no pain at all. Here are Jennifer Hudson’s words on the matter: Everybody told me how much it was going to hurt afterwards but I think I have a different tolerance for pain than others. By the night after I had the baby, I’m like, ‘Look, I can’t sit in this bed anymore. I’ve got to get up!’ I’ve been up and about since he was born. To me, the pain is no different than when you work out a muscle you’ve never worked out before and it’s sore.” Yeah, sure, different pain tolerance, everybody has different pain tolerance when they’re in a hospital stuffed full of anesthetics and tranquillizers. When Jennifer Hudson has to bring a baby into the world in the middle of a forest, in winter, with only a blunt rock to perform a C-section, then she can see her true tolerance to pain.

Nirvana Preview School Video from Live From Reading

October 09th, 2009 | Category: DVD, News, Nirvana, Song, Video, YouTube

Nirvana headlining at Reading in 1992 was something you had to see, and if you didn’t see it then it was something you pretended you saw.”
Kerrang (October 2003)
“The staggering energy and intensity radiating from the stage never let up… Cobain’s ravaged pop songs coming off like some dream marriage of the Sex Pistols and the Beatles, borne on bracing waves of distorted guitar noise.”
Rolling Stone (October 29, 1992)
Ranked #1 in Kerrang Magazine’s “100 Gigs That Shook The World” and voted as “Nirvana’s #1 Greatest Moment” by fans in an NME poll, Nirvana’s historic August 30, 1992 headlining appearance at the UK’s Reading Festival is one of the most bootlegged concerts in the annals of rock n roll. Now, fans will have an opportunity to own a pristine copy of that entire performance — color-corrected video from the original film with audio sourced from the original multi-track masters. Nirvana Live At Reading will be issued in a limited edition CD+DVD Deluxe Edition as well as DVD-only, CD-only configurations on November 3, 2009, followed by a 2LP version on November 17, 2009.
While the show’s centerpiece was a performance of nearly the entire Nevermind tracklist, also noteworthy were early performances of three as yet unrecorded songs which wouldn’t be released until 2 years later on In Utero: “All Apologies,” “Dumb,” and in its first ever public performance, “Tourettes.” The career-spanning setlist also reached back to the band’s 1989 Sub Pop debut album, Bleach, for “Blew,” “About A Girl,” “School,” “Negative Creep” and first single “Love Buzz,” and even further back to the mid-‘80s for “Spank Thru.” Other songs from the Reading set would appear in studio form on the Incesticide compilation later in the year: “Aneurysm,” “Been A Son” and “Sliver.” Additionally, the band played a pair of beloved covers by two bands that helped shape the formative Nirvana sound – “The Money Will Roll Right In” by Fang and “D-7″ by The Wipers.

Liam Gallagher signs Oasis death certificate

October 08th, 2009 | Category: Oasis

It has been said and it is final: Liam Gallagher admitted that Oasis no longer exists. His statement comes a bit late since his brother Noel Gallagher quit the band back in August. This is what Liam Gallagher said regarding the band: “Oasis are no longer. I think we all know that. So that’s done. Without a doubt. And it’s a shame, but that’s life. We had a good run at it. The thing about Oasis is, no one ended it for us, we ended Oasis. Which was kind of cool. I’m thinking of what my next step is musically, which is all my mind’s on. It’s not all for the worst because Noel can do his thing and I can do mine. People will be able to buy his records. People will be able to buy our records. So everyone’s happy.” Well, of course everybody’s happy… everybody except the fans, mainly, but who cares about them anyway. Liam and Noel Gallagher have their copyrights benefits and their new musical careers to look forward to.

Ronnie Wood gets No Satisfaction rowing at home with Russian lover

October 07th, 2009 | Category: News

SPL103120_013

Rolling Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood has reportedly said that the next time he has an argument with his 20-year-old Russian girlfriend, Ekaterina Ivanova, they will do their rowing in the “middle of a field” to prevent rumours starting that they are splitting up.

Wood, 62, and Ivanova, recently had a well-publicised falling-out at their home in London’s Belsize Park, after which the media reported that they were to split.

The hard-living rocker said: “There were a few harsh words that night between me and Kat [Ekaterina], but the point about Belsize [Park] is it’s like an echo chamber – you raise your voice and the neighbours hear everything.â€

He added: “Kat, she’s coming with me to the country, and if we have another argument, well, this time we’ll have it in the middle of a field!”

Russell Brand is in the throes of lust for dainty pop star Katy Perry.

October 06th, 2009 | Category: Katy Perry, Love

Lothario Russell Brand is in the throes of lust for dainty pop star Katy Perry.

Wasting no time, he said: “I think I’m in love.”

Brand and Perry were discovered to have taken a love dash to the exotic location of Thailand after Perry tweeted.

When asked about his time with Perry, he said coyly: “I don’t think I should be drawn on that.”

The pair met up at the star-studded MTV Video Music Awards. Brand got much more than he bargained for when he sent a romantic note requesting a response – a photograph of Perry’s assets.

Perry, who is in Paris, was snapped with a mystery man on her arm. Friends, however, say she is rapt about Brand.

Brand hinted the pair may soon go public with their love, saying: “You will find out very soon.”

A source, meanwhile, said: “Russell has fancied Katy for ages and was like an excited schoolboy after they got together. He really sees her as an ideal catch and is prepared to stop seeing other girls. He doesn’t want to talk about it yet as he doesn’t want to blow his chances.”

Exclusive Premiere of Tokio Hotel’s Humanoid on Myspace

October 06th, 2009 | Category: Album, New Single, Song, Tokio Hotel

Tokio Hotel-photo
Head over to Tokio Hotel’s Myspace for an exclusive listen of their album Humanoid. The first single, “Automatic” is a metallic anthem with layered, buzzing guitars, stomping percussion, and a falsetto chorus made to be belted out by a stadium full of people while “World Behind My Wall” redefines the power ballad with depth, introspection, musical confidence and an irresistible sing-along chorus. The band tracked songs in Hamburg, Miami, and L.A. “Bill drove us all crazy, constantly coming in with things, even though the old songs weren’t finished yet,” says Tom, who’s fond of frequently ribbing his brother. “Apart from that, we just didn’t limit ourselves, and we used new instruments.”

The album does not hit stores until tomorrow, but the band is streaming all 12 tracks from the standard version until midnight. Like what you hear? Preorder the sci-fi themed release on iTunes now.

Jo Wood has forgiven estranged husband Ronnie for walking out

October 06th, 2009 | Category: Celebrities, Celebrities Marriage, Love

SPL106718_005

Jo Wood has said she has forgiven her estranged husband Ronnie for walking out on her.

Ronnie, 62, left wife Jo, 54, last year after 23 years of marriage and 31 years together. He left Jo for Russian model Ekaterina Ivanova, 21, whom he lives with in London.

Jo, who is currently competing on British show Strictly Come Dancing, admitted that she has finally let it go and that their kids are slowly coming around.

She said: “He’s slowly making friends with the kids again but it’s difficult and these things take time. I think maybe he was a bit nervous at first but he shouldn’t be.

“I’ve forgiven him and I’m not bitter about anything he’s done. Life’s too short to be like that.”

Jo used to pick out Ronnie’s clothes and she couldn’t help but discuss his wardrobe choices since they split.

She said: “I think: ‘By God, Ronnie, I’d have you looking better than that!’”
